Our School
TLC is a small independent Special Educational Needs school in Bromley, Kent. We offer learners a welcoming and secure environment in which to learn and develop as young people.
We provide high-quality education and care for a broad range of complex emotional and academic needs, all of which we aim to support through a nurturing and structured environment which targets learners’ individual needs.

We offer a range of core therapies to support learners with their learning and developmental needs, including personal mentors, one to one counselling sessions, Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy. We also have a specialist Dyslexia Teacher and work closely with an educational psychologist.
To provide a holistic approach to supporting our young people, we offer additional activities such as lunch time clubs in music and gaming.
We are trained in Proact SCIPr which is a specialist, pro-active, emotion-informed, behavioural approach, which supports children and young people with challenging behaviour.
We believe every experience is a learning experience and we have a dedicated team who work with each learner to develop a personalised approach to learning and understanding. With the specialist support our learners receive, they grow in self-confidence, personal understanding and develop a more positive approach to learning.

We provide an inspirational, innovative and safe place of education, where each pupil is valued and treated equitably; delivering individualised, high quality educational provision based on the past experiences and current needs of each pupil.

Community and Charity
The school fosters an ethos of charitable work, and we mark nationwide charitable events such as Comic Relief, Children in Need and Macmillan Coffee Mornings.
TLC has partnerships with a number of local charities including Living on Bereavement Living On and Bromley Children & Families Voluntary Sector Forum bcfforum – Voluntary Sector Forum. Living On deliver both 1-2-1 counselling and group drama therapy for our learners who have experienced bereavements. Bromley Children & Families Voluntary Sector Forum work with us to fund and support various projects such as our Summer Transition Days and Youth Mentoring Initiative (funded via the Mayor of London’s Propel funding). We refer Learners to various local charities for additional support on a regular basis including CASPA, Bromley Mencap and Bromley Children’s Project

We connect regularly with our local community and our local Councillors; including the Mayor of Bromley.
